Training in our fully pitted Performance Centre we have a highly successful competitive programme in place. Our squads compete in women's artistic 2 piece and 4 piece gymnastics and also competitive tumbling.
These squads cater for gymnasts who have shown potential in the recreational classes and have been invited to join one of the development or competition squads through a trial process or coach identification. They are also open to accomplished gymnasts moving into the area from another club. In this case you will be invited to a trial to determine your level and placed in the most appropriate squad.
Hours range from 2 to 28 per week, possibly increasing during half terms and school holidays. The aim for gymnasts in these squads is to go on and represent the club in competitions at County, Regional and National and, for some, International level.
Development squads are for the younger gymnasts who we have identified as having the potential to progress to our competitive squads. The squads are used to introduce the gymnasts to comprehensive training regimes and determine their suitability both physically and mentally for competitive gymnastics training.
Competition squads are for gymnasts who are dedicated to achieving their potential and competing at County, Regional, National and for some, International level. All our development and competition squads require a significant commitment to the training regime including mandatory competitions at internal and external venues, County, Regional and National training sessions (if selected); and continued, sustained training at your assigned times.
